| The IOD houses the Command Value Engineering (VE) Office that is responsible for exercising VE principles and regulations for each command element as established by the U.S. Army Materiel Command, the Department of the Army, and the Department of Defense. The Value Engineering Office of IOD promotes developing, producing, and acquiring the most cost effective weapon systems while maintaining producibility, readiness, and required performance of the system. This is accomplished through the use of VE methodology, Life Cycle Cost Reduction (LCCR) programs, and visualization based design. |
