Value Engineering (VE) Program
OBJECTIVE

Lower the cost of products and processes while maintaining or improving performance.

Definition of VE Methodology

Value Engineering is an organized effort to analyze the functions of systems, equipment, facilities, services, and supplies for achieving the essential functions at the lowest life cycle cost consistent with required performance, reliability, quality, and safety.

Program Criteria

There are two types of Value Engineering Studies:

  1. The Value Engineering Proposal (VEP), and
  2. The Value Engineering Change Proposals (VECP).

A VEP is a Government employee-submitted proposal and a VECP is a contractor-submitted proposal.
