The U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command (AMCOM) Engineering Directorate (ED) provides life-cycle integration support to ensure that America’s arsenal of missiles, helicopters and other combat equipment remains second to none. To assist with this mission, the ED has established the Visualization-based Design Lab (VizLab). The function of the VizLab is to provide high quality 3D visualization, modeling and animation capabilities to assist AMCOM and the project offices in the modernization and sustainment of the Army’s arsenal of weaponry. In addition, the lab works with project office and contractor personnel to make these applications widely available by using commercial-off-the-shelf software and hardware whenever possible.
